Microwave Sensor for On-Line measurement of moisture, concentration, density & total solids

Applications:

In the microwave measurement an electromagnetic wave with low energy is generated and via an antenna integrated into the product. This wave spreads out in the product in dependence of the electrical characteristics. A second antenna receives this wave. Energy and phase of the received wave are indicators for the water content, the material concentration and density in the product. MW-measurements are qualified because of high stability and a very short feedback time. Measurements at conveyer belts or nonconductive tanks are operating without direct contact and can be mounted outside of the process equipment. In case of metallic tanks the sensors are inserted together with a flange in the wall. 

HK Series online microwave sensors can be used for measurement of process parameters like moisture (water content) in liquids & bulk material, concentration of organic components (in organic mixtures), density, min/max water level, total solids etc

HK Series Microwave Sensor consists of following components:

1. Evaluation Unit (for Display & Calibration)

2. Sensor system (pin antenna, short antenna, flow cells, horn antenna etc). The sensor system is selected based on application & place of installation.

In compact versions sensor system and evaluation units are integrated.

In field version sensor system is integrated with evaluation unit but here evaluation unit does not have provision for display and calibration. Facility for display and calibration is provided through a Remote Operating unit which can be installed at maximum of 10m distance from evaluation unit. Interconnecting cable from remote unit to evaluation unit is included in delivery.
